Building caretaker

Felix Meier, building caretaker

Felix Meier takes care of the partly centuries-old parts of the building and the surroundings of Hotel Bad Murtensee. He has now been with us for a year and, during this time, has found solutions for a wide variety of situations as well as being able to help numerous guests and colleagues. Felix always remains calm and composed and is greatly appreciated by everyone.

We asked him a few questions:

What do you like about your job?
No day is like the other. As a trained boat builder and carpenter, I can fully live out my craftsmanship. I also appreciate the contact with guests.

What do you like best about Hotel Bad?
The team and the atmosphere right by the lake. At Hotel Bad itself, I particularly like the green area with the bush islands.

What is your nicest experience here?
It is always nice when I can help someone. A guest gave me a good pocket knife as a thank-you, which I now always carry with me.

Which is your favourite place on Murtensee?
The sandy beach between the campsite in Avenches and Salavaux.

The name Felix means «the lucky one». What makes you happy?
The realisation of how well I am doing – I am very grateful for that. What also makes me happy is being active in nature; it keeps me balanced, as does being able to bring joy to other people.

What do you do to balance work?
I have the sailing and boating licence and enjoy being on the lake. I also started riding a motorbike in February. In general, I like spending time with my wife, our two sons and our dog. I also did agility (dog sport) with him, but he is now too old for it.

Thank you for these insights, Felix!
