Rocio Judith Diaz Corral, Housekeeping Employee

Rocio is responsible with the Housekeeping team for the cleanliness of the hotel and the restaurant. She also helps out in the kitchen when help is needed, whether for breakfast or in the Beach House. Her cheerful and helpful nature is appreciated and understood across every language barrier – Rocio speaks Spanish.

We asked her a few questions (translated from Spanish):

How did you come to your job?

«Through my friend Antonio, who has been working at the Hotel Bad Murtensee for a long time. I actually trained in administration and accounting.»

What do you like best about Bad Murtensee?

«What I particularly like about the hotel is its location right by the lake and the atmosphere, as well as my work, which I do every day, the team spirit and how my manager treats me.»

What kind of team member are you?

«I consider myself a responsible, friendly, cheerful person with a good attitude to work and, above all, a good team player.»

You originally come from Spain. What drew you to Switzerland and our region?

«I came to Switzerland through my friend and ultimately my work and I really like this country, especially the landscape and the customs, particularly Lake Murten too. However, I miss my children and grandchildren.»

What is your most special experience in the hotel and at/on Lake Murten?

«A guest asked me to carry her luggage to the car. The lady was very happy and even gave me a tip. Once I was allowed to go on a lake tour on the Boutique Boatel Attila. That was very lovely.»

What do you do to balance your work?

«I enjoy cycling in our region and cooking for my friend and me.»
