About Hotel Bad Murtensee
2022
All hotel rooms were refurbished. In September, Hotel Bad Murtensee took over the operational management of the MS Attila.
2021
In the second year of the coronavirus pandemic, renovation work began on the toilet facilities in the main building. In the Beach House, guests were served at the tables for the first time in the history of the hotel.
2020
For the first time, the hotel was reopened as early as January, also to be available for seminars and events. Investment was made in the garden infrastructure and in the Beach House. And in spring, «Bad Muntelier» became «Bad Murtensee», with a new corporate identity and a new brand strategy.
2019
The courtyard, the event rooms and the restaurant were redesigned, which was also reflected in a new look – «See la vie» has since been the name and at the same time the motto of the restaurant.
2018
In December 2018, after four generations in the Fasnacht family, Hotel Bad Muntelier passed into new hands. Franziska and Marcel Jörg, both rooted in the region, took over the traditional business.
1987
From 1987 onwards, Barbara, her husband Peter and her sister Karin successively joined the business and took it over together in 1995. During their era, the «Beach House» was also created in 1998, which invites guests to linger directly on the lake in a unique atmosphere.
1973
Kurt and Gini Fasnacht, by then a family with their two daughters Barbara and Karin, built a motel-like extension with 21 rooms in 1973 and opened a lake terrace with around 60 seats.
1960
The then owner family was inspired by son Kurt, who had lived in the USA for several years and had been thoroughly trained in the hotel industry. They set up a «Grill-Room» and the path to today's renowned restaurant began.
1947
Hanny, the daughter of the house, had married Paul Fasnacht «dit Welsch» and thus remained true to the Fasnacht family. After the death of her parents, she continued to run the inn with her husband and in 1947 carried out various internal alterations in the halls.
1919
The property was bought by August Fasnacht «dit Gräy», a respected local who had previously run the «Hechten». This marked the beginning of the successful history of the Fasnacht family of innkeepers at the then «Hotel Bad Muntelier am See».
1903
After part of the premises had been extensively renovated over several years, a fire broke out there on 26 October 1903, destroying the dining and drinking hall, the barn with feed supplies, the dance hall with the equipment of the gymnastics and shooting club, the stage of the male choir and a new piano, the bakery with flour supplies and the bowling alley. Thanks to the decisive intervention of the fire brigades from Muntelier and the surrounding villages and the prevailing calm, the fire could be extinguished quickly. In a westerly wind, the whole village - as in 1741 - would once again have been threatened by disaster.
1863
The opening of the so-called bathing inn Muntelier finally took place on 15 March 1863. This was very probably inspired by the nearby bathing establishment, which already existed in the 1850s. At the time, the lake water was even advertised as medicinal water. In the new lakeside bathing establishment belonging to the bathing inn, men were allowed to bathe from 5 to 8 and from 11 to 12 o'clock, and in the afternoon from 17 to 21 o'clock, women from 8 to 11 and 14 to 17 o'clock. There were also public dance events.
1825
The number of taverns in the municipality had been a matter of discussion for some time. So in 1825, the municipal council decided to close all but two. Only the «Hechten» and the tavern at the large landing place for the barges remained, today's Hotel Bad Murtensee.
1750
The core buildings of Hotel Bad Murtensee were built between 1745 and 1754 as a farm. There are indications that a distillery and a brewery were operated in the house. Shortly afterwards, the house was also used as a tavern, a term commonly used in the region for an inn.
1741
A major fire destroyed the whole village except for five buildings. At that time, the present building did not yet exist.
