Moncef Ben Dhaou, Head of Service Restaurant «See la vie» and banqueting

Moncef has been part of the team at Hotel Bad Murtensee for four years and has now been responsible for the smooth running of the restaurant and banquets as Head of Service for one year. He always keeps a cool head and his sense of humour, which both the guests and we really appreciate.

We asked Moncef a few questions:

What do you like most about your profession and your workplace?
«I have always liked the variety and contact with people in my work. I am an open, sociable person who is very flexible in my work. Among other things, this helps me to build a good relationship with our guests. Some of these customers have therefore become regulars. Of course, I am very pleased about that.»

What do you particularly like about Murten/the region?
«The lake and all activities in and on the water. For me, Murten and the region is an attractive place to work and spend my free time. I like cycling and exploring the area around the Murtensee.»

You originally come from Tunisia. Why did you come to Switzerland/this region?
«I had to leave my home country Tunisia for family reasons. At the start of my time in Switzerland, I lived and worked in the city of Bern for 16 years. It has always been my wish to work in different places in Switzerland. I like Hotel Bad Murtensee and especially our working atmosphere. I also find our guests very straightforward. The only challenge for me and my family, my wife and my two children, is sometimes the working hours with the «Zimmerstunden».»

Do you also like going to restaurants, or do you prefer cooking yourself?
«I go out to eat in restaurants from time to time. I usually look for places that serve fish and seafood. Preferably somewhere on the Murtensee. The region reminds me of the sea, Tunisia and my home country, and gives me back a little of what I left behind 25 years ago.»
