Susan Ernst, service staff member Restaurant See la vie

Susan Ernst has been working at Hotel Bad for 18 years already and is our longest-serving employee. For her, working in service is not just a job, but a passion. Susan is a calming presence, always helpful, warm and humorous.

We asked her a few questions:

How did you get into your profession?
I originally come from Saxony and completed my training as a hotel specialist in Baden-Württemberg. That is when I realised that I wanted to work in service later on. Hotel Bad was my first job in Switzerland. Because I liked it so much, I am still here.

What do you like best here?
Hotel Bad is beautiful and the working atmosphere is excellent. Dealing with the guests and being active are my passion.

Do you have any other passions?
My family. As we have three children, I currently work only 30% at Hotel Bad and otherwise look after my loved ones.

What makes our region special for you?
The Murten region is dreamy, especially with children. In summer, you can swim in the lake and go on many lovely bike tours. In winter too, there is lots to discover and you are quickly in the mountains. Fortunately, my family shares my enthusiasm for exercise of any kind.

Is there anything you miss here?
I miss Germany a little, because all my relatives live there.
