Susan Ernst, Service Team Member at Restaurant See la vie

Susan Ernst has been working at Hotel Bad for 19 years and is our longest-serving employee. For her, working in service is not just a job, but a true passion. Susan is a calming presence, always helpful, warm-hearted and full of humour.

We asked her a few questions:

How did you get into this profession?

«I originally come from Saxony and completed my training as a hotel specialist in Baden-Württemberg. During that time, I realised that I wanted to work in service later on. Hotel Bad was my first workplace in Switzerland. Because I enjoy it here so much, I’m still here today.»

What do you like most about working here?

«Hotel Bad is beautiful and the working atmosphere is fantastic. Interacting with guests and being constantly active are my passion.»

Do you have any other passions?

«My family. As we have three children, I currently only work 30% at Hotel Bad and otherwise devote my time to my loved ones.»

What makes our region special to you?

«The Murten region is wonderful, especially for families with children. In summer, you can swim in the lake and enjoy many beautiful cycling tours. Even in winter, there is so much to discover and the mountains are only a short drive away. Thankfully, my family shares my enthusiasm for all kinds of physical activity.»

Is there anything you miss here?

«I miss Germany a little because all my relatives still live there.»
