Felix Meier, Caretaker

Felix Meier looks after the the buildings and the surroundings of the Hotel Bad Murtensee. He has been with us for a year now and during this time has found solutions for a wide variety of situations and has been able to help numerous guests and colleagues. Felix always remains calm and composed and is greatly appreciated by everyone.

We asked him a few questions:

What do you like about your job?
No days are the same. As a trained boat builder and carpenter, I can fully use my skills. I also appreciate the contact with the guests.

What do you like best at Hotel Bad?
The team and also the atmosphere to work near the lake. At Hotel Bad itself, I particularly like the green areas.

What is your best experience here?
It's always nice when I can help someone. One guest gave me a pocket knife as a thank you, which I now always carry with me.

What is your favorite place on Lake Murten?
The sandy beach between the campsite in Avenches and Salavaux.

The name Felix means "the happy one". What makes you happy?
The realization of how well I'm doing - I'm very grateful for that. I'm also happy when I'm out in nature, which gives me a sense of balance, and when I can make other people happy.

What do you do to balance your work?
I have my sailing and boating certificate and enjoy being out on the lake. I've also been riding my motorcycle since February. I generally enjoy spending time with my wife, two sons and our dog. I used to do agility (dog sports) with him, but he's too old for that now.
