Hotel Bad Murtensee currently features 21 hotel rooms, 2 apartments, the “See la vie” restaurant, and the “Beach House” lakeside bar. An additional 13 guest room units are planned for 2027. Its unique location directly on the picturesque Lake Murten, adjacent to the historic town of Murten and situated on Switzerland’s German-French language border, offers exceptional cultural diversity as well as countless sports and leisure opportunities.

To further develop our food & beverage operations, we are seeking a committed and experienced professional as:

Director of Food & Beverage (m/f/d) – Member of the Executive Management Team

Your Responsibilities:

In this key leadership role, you will assume overall operational and strategic responsibility for our food & beverage and events division. You will act as an entrepreneurial leader who combines structure, outstanding service quality, and commercial success. As the ownership group deliberately focuses on strategic guidance and administrative HR matters, you will lead the day-to-day operations in close collaboration with the Rooms Division Manager and as an equal partner within the leadership team.

Your focus areas include:

• Strategy & Positioning: Developing and advancing our innovative food, beverage, event, and service concepts with a forward-looking approach.

• Operational Excellence: Ensuring the highest standards throughout the F&B operation, continuously optimizing processes, and actively supporting operations during peak periods as a passionate host.

• Financial Performance: Managing the business with a strong focus on results and taking responsibility for achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Modern Leadership: Inspiring, supporting, and challenging your team through empathy, clear structures, and a modern leadership culture.

Your Profile

You are an experienced and entrepreneurial professional with a strong sense of responsibility and a structured approach to work. Ideally, you bring the following qualifications:

• Several years of management experience in a 3- or 4-star hotel environment or upscale gastronomy.

• Extensive F&B expertise and experience managing multiple F&B outlets simultaneously, combined with event and banquet operations. Experience in a business with seasonal fluctuations is an advantage.

• Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a structured, solution-oriented mindset.

• You enjoy being close to guests and lead by example with a hands-on attitude.

• A degree from a hotel management school and experience in event and banquet management are considered strong assets.

• Excellent German language skills and confident English communication skills in guest-facing situations. Knowledge of French is desirable.
